Eating well and living well means
.....
Using Canada's Food Guide to Healthy
Eating to choose a variety of foods
Limit salt, caffeine and alcohol
intake. High salt intake may play a role in hypertension and to much caffeine and alcohol
may take the place of other beverages that are more benefical.
Increase your intake of fibre and
fluids to prevent dehydration and maintain healthy bowel function.
Rely on food to meet your daily
vitamin and mineral requirements. Vitamins and minerals in food are absorbed more
easily than supplemental products.
Achieve and maintain a healthy
weight to promote a good mental and physical well-being.
Try new foods and enjoy them in the
company of friends and family.
Keep foods safe to eat to prevent
food borne illnesses.
Use herbal products and nutrient
supplements safely. An overuse of some products can be harmful.
Stay active, physically, mentally
and socially ......
for a Lifetime.
